Claudia is a Los Angeles native, Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Phlebotomist at the University of Southern California.  She is system-impacted and has overcome tremendous injustices in her life.

One of Claudia’s greatest accomplishments is her success in bringing her husband, Michael Tirpak, home from prison.  Claudia stood by Michael while he was unjustly incarcerated with a sentence of life without the possibility of parole, never once doubting his innocence.  To prove her husband’s innocence, Claudia launched her own investigation and advocated for a group of pro bono attorneys to take Michael’s case.

After his release from prison, Claudia helped Michael adjust to life outside of prison.  She and Michael shared so much joy along with their children and dogs. While Michael did not live to see his dream of helping people overcome the barriers they face after returning home, Claudia will carry out Michael’s legacy and assist Cal-IA’s freed clients with their re-entry process. PCA is so lucky to have Claudia’s drive, experience, and resilience.
